Five Video Shots

For my second shot I attempted to do the aerial shot. This shot was very difficult considering I had to be on my tip toes and hold my phone high up, as well as making sure I didn’t come out in the shot. Unfortunately I couldn’t get a perfect aerial shot since I didn’t have the tools to hold the camera at a 90 degree angle. This scene took a lot of tries because my brother kept going too quick and I couldn’t keep up. When It came to the shot inside the mail box I tried to get the mailbox’s POV.
For my first shot I decided to do a master/establishing shot. I used the master shot to portray the feeling of simplicity. This means that he is just woke out of a bed and has no spunk or big personality to contribute to the scene. Simple yet interesting shot. Some struggles I had with this shot is that when he walks through the hallway, I have to walk next to him but the hallway is narrow.
For this scene I decided to keep it simple since there is no intricate movements/actions. I didn’t have any difficulties with this shot and I did it in one take.
For this scene I decided to do a wide shot. I believe this gave the scene good cinematography. It also showed the location of the walk. The wide shot was good for a walking scene. I had a lot struggles with this because my dogs weren’t cooperating, and it was difficult to get them in the perfect spot. My little dog also kept on barking.

For this scene I decided to do a ECU and a whip pan to show the subject’s feelings against his dirty room that he needs to clean. I decided to end the film at the not cleaned room to give suspense to the storyline. I also felt like there was no need for a shot of him picking up. This shot was a little more difficult to film than I through it would be because of the distance between the messy room and where the subject was standing. It was very close so while I whipped the camera around, I had to zoom out the camera and I kept going too slow. The other issue I had was telling the subject where to look and how to make his face look to kind of show his feelings about the messy room, and to show that he is dreading cleaning his room and it makes him mad. The ECU shot was hard because I wanted it to look like the subject was looking at the clothes but since my phone was completely in his face It was hard to trouble shoot. I had to end up telling him to basically “look though” the camera, as to pretend it wasn’t there, just to get that perfect shot.
